1. Where did you grow up?
South central Arkansas in a small town named Carthage in Dallas County.
2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?
The story of Queen Esther.
Esther, an ethnic Jew in a foreign land who intervened when her people were being targeted for death because of their race and ethnic heritage, was willing to take the risk of revealing her own heritage and used her influence and power to advocate on behalf of her people, thus saving the Jews from death.
3. What is your favorite movie? Why?
I love the classics and especially romantic ones!
4. Who are three people you admire?
Ambassador Edgar Palacios (Salvadoran ambassador to Mexico, former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., peace advocate following Salvadoran civil war), Wendell Griffen (circuit judge in Arkansas and pastor of New Millennium Church) and Oscar Romero.
5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?
I love hiking and hold on to the dream of hiking the entire Appalachian Trail.
